Please join us with friends and family to the 9/11 Sewa Day of Service Commemoration event to Remember and Honor the Heroes, veterans, first responders and the countless others who defends the nation in the need of hour. 

Throughout the year Sewa Detroit served the community through environmental stewardship and we invite all our volunteers and community members to join for eco friendly activities like - Painting cotton bags to avoid plastic use, create jewelry from recycled items, tabletop gardening, seed bombs, and many other eco friendly activities

There will be free raffles to win some eco friendly household items.

Activities starts at 1:30 PM Please register to volunteer and receive volunteering certificates. Volunteers need to spend at least 1 hour on the activities to receive the certificate. 

Volunteers are free to arrive anytime and stay for at least an hour or until 5:00PM

If you have Sewa Tshirt, we request you to please wear and come.

Bring your own reusable water bottles.

Commemoration Event - Honoring heroes and volunteers is the goal of this culmination event for 9/11 Day of Service. First responders and veterans will be invited along with elated dignitaries in the Greater Detroit Area to remember and honor the heroes. All volunteers will be appreciated for their resilience and unitedly coming together for the community service. 

The event is twofold - Environmental awareness volunteering activities and commemoration in remembrance and honor of heroes.

1:30 PM to 3:00PM - Volunteering activities that promote environmental awareness
2:00 PM to 3:00 PM - Chief guests and dignitaries volunteer for the activities and interact with the volunteers
3:00 PM to 4:00 PM - Commemoration event - National Anthem, Remembering 9/11 heroes, honoring and recognizing the veterans and first responders present at the event, appreciating Sewa volunteers and partners, speeches by the chief guests and environmentalists.
4:00 PM to 5:00 PM - Volunteering activities continue
